No, no, no...you have this all wrong. You use Shake N Bake BBQ mix and add crushed Doritos and bake. Then add shredded taco flavored cheese for the last few minutes in oven. THAT is how you do Taco Chicken!

My suggustion is to use cool ranch doritos, it should change the dynamic to more of a tex-mex favor.

We used doritos and didn't add the taco sauce mix and used flour and it tasted awesome! MY husband and 1 year old LOVED IT! And it was quick and easy which is also good for our house.

Recipe was easy & fast. Husband was skeptical when I told him what I was cooking b/c he thought it would be to salty with the Doritos, but he loved it. Next time I might use the spicy Doritos instead of the regular one.

This recipe was good but could have used a little more flavor. Next time I make this I''m going to put in a packet of taco seasoning to spice it up. I also used cheesy dorito''s but the taco dorito''s might be even better. My kids loved crushing the chips.
