Swiss steak has been my favorite meal since I was a small child. My mom put sliced onions in the skillet, then added the round steak and browned it. Then she added the canned tomatoes, a small can of tomato paste, and steamed it gently for an hour or so. I think I like this idea of adding carrots and potatoes to it.
