Sweet Italian Bread
cup 2% milk
cup granulated sugar
tsp salt, more if needed
package active dry yeast
cup warm water
tbsp italian seasoning
Combine milk, sugar, butter and salt in a saucepan and stir thoroughly for 2-3 minutes. Pour into a mixer bowl. Sprinkle the yeast into the warm water in separate container, until it dissolves.
Add yeast and flour to mixer bowl, mix thoroughly. Add two eggs and mix through. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes, adding flour if the dough is sticky.
Spray a bowl with non-stick cooking spray and place the dough inside it. Cover the bowl and let rise for one hour. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Take the dough and split into thirds. Roll into a 16-inch rope and braid the dough. Mix the pepper, parsley, one egg, italian seasoning, and a little salt together and spread over the bread. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Bake the bread for 25 minutes. Let cool for five minutes, cut up, and serve.
