I've been making this recipe for years...it's a family favorite. I add fresh broccoli & green beans to the recipe, and double up on the pineapple and sauce. Don't have to coat the meat, usually falls off anyway. Can substitute shrimp, just don't overcook. Good served over angel hair pasta if you don't have rice. You can use this sauce as a basic sweet n sour sauce for other recipes. I've had my Betty Crocker Cookbook for over 30 years, and it's seen better days, but you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands!

I have enjoyed this recipe for YEARS as it was in the BC cookbook I received as a wedding gift back in '86. I was sorely disappointed when my children bought me an updated BC cookbook to replace the well-worn old one to find that many MANY of our favorite recipes were gone, this one included. So happy to find it here now. It's very tasty and easy to make. Everyone loves it.

I've been making this great classic from the Betty Crocker cookbook for over 20 years. It's one of my favorite dishes. I almost always use leftover turkey instead of pork (getting ready to chop up our leftover Christmas turkey right now!), I prefer to use pineapple tidbits instead of chunks, I use an extra clove or two of garlic, and I use apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar. But it's a "5-spoon" recipe even when made exactly as listed.

Got this recipe from a Betty Crocker cookbook dated back in the 1970's. Been using it since I started cooking. my family loves it. Used it with pork, chicken and shrimp. Don't fry my meat but do cook it before adding to sauce. My kids are now grown up and making it for their families.

this was easy to make and it was soo good. Instead of putting carrots in it i put snap peas in it. Instead of using pinapples we used pinapple juice. it turned out really good well and was very good. if i can make it anyone can make it.

I honestly hate to cook so when I had a package of boneless pork I had no idea what to make. I have never made chinese and usually never make anything with a prep time over 10-15 minutes. Well let me tell you...this recipe rocked! It turned out awesome and tasted great. I had no idea I had it in me. But if I can make this ANYONE can! I added celery and onions. Hmmmm

I made this recipe for years out of the old Betty Crocker cookbook. (circa 1960). I made it with left over ham chicken or pork. Do not recall that I breaded the meat and liked it better that way. It also called for onions instead of carrots. Now I just shake the pork in some cornstarch and cook it up. If already cooked I don't bother. I lost my old cookbook and have been looking for another.

This was great, and really filling! I added some coarse chopped sweet onion (about the same size pieces as the green peppers) as that's what I'm used to at restaurants. Be sure to have at least an inch of oil at the right temperature - the person who had trouble with the batter may not have used enough for the pork to float while they cooked, which may have allowed the batter to rub off. Very tasty - will make again!

I think this turned out great. The only thing I would change is to use pineapple tidbits or cut the chunks smaller as they were a little overwhelming. But a great, easy recipe that I will be making again!
