Sugar 'n Spice Apple Cake

Ingredients

cups Original Bisquick® mix
2
tablespoons sugar
1/2
cup milk
2
tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1
egg
1
medium unpeeled red apple, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)
1/4
cup butter or margarine, melted
2
tablespoons sugar
1/2
teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, 2 tablespoons sugar, the milk, 2 tablespoons butter and egg until well blended. Spread batter evenly in pan.
  • 2 Arrange apple slices in 3 rows, overlapping slices slightly, on batter. Brush 1/4 cup melted butter over tops of apple slices.
  • 3 In small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
  • 4 Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 15 minutes before serving. Cut with serrated knife into squares.

LOVED IT!! My husband does not like a lot of cakes but he really enjoyed this one and so did my 16 mo. old son who is a VERY picky eater.

really groovy with vanilla icecream :)I cut up the apple into bits and mixed them with cinnamon n' sugar then mixed them into the batter baked it and sprinkeled the rest of my CnS on top :) super yum to the tum :)
