Sugar Cookie Presents

A fun and simple way to create a festive holiday dessert out of classic Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix. Add chewy fruit snack ribbon to iced cookies, to make little edible “presents” - a perfect Christmas treat.

Ingredients

pouch Betty Crocker™ sugar cookie mix
1/3
cup butter, softened

tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

egg
1
cup Betty Crocker™ Whipped fluffy white frosting (from 12-oz container)
1/2
teaspoon yellow paste food color
1/4
teaspoon green paste food color
4
rolls Betty Crocker™ Fruit by the Foot™ strawberry chewy fruit snack (from 4.5-oz box)

tablespoons white nonpareils

  • 1 In large bowl, stir cookie mix, butter, flour and egg until dough forms. Shape dough into ball; flatten slightly. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate 1 hour.
  • 2 Heat oven to 375°F. Unwrap dough; on floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with floured 3-inch present-shaped cookie cutter. On ungreased cookie sheets, place cutouts 2 inches apart. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • 3 In small bowl, mix frosting and food colors until well blended. Frost cookies. Cut and shape fruit snacks to look like ribbons and bows; place on cookies. Sprinkle with nonpareils. Let stand until set.
