Kids can have fun making food by the foot with "O's" and candies that may just be in your cupboard.
pieces (about 36 inches each) red shoestring licorice
cup Cheerios™ cereal
roll (1.5 oz) brightly colored, ring-shaped gummy candy
package (1 1/4 oz) pastel-colored tube-shaped licorice candies
cup colored miniature marshmallows
tablespoon powdered sugar
Onto each piece of shoestring licorice, string an arrangement of cereal, candies and marshmallows (to prevent stickiness, dip 1 end of licorice into powdered sugar before poking licorice through each marshmallow).
When each licorice is 3/4 full, tie ends of licorice together into a double knot to make a necklace.
A single Cheerios cereal "O" measures about 1/2 inch across, so it takes about 24 O's to make a foot.
