Streusel-Topped Brownies

Ingredients

box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
1/4
cup water
1/4
cup vegetable oil
1
egg
1/2
cup packed brown sugar
1/2
cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/4
cup cold butter

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir together brownie mix, pouch of chocolate syrup (from brownie mix box), water, oil and egg until blended. Spread batter in pan.
  • 3 In small bowl, mix brown sugar and flour. Cut in butter, using pastry blender (or rubbing with fingers), until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle streusel evenly over batter.
  • 4 Bake 22 to 24 minutes or until streusel is light golden brown and toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

Add 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans to the topping.

For thicker brownies, bake in an 11x7-inch pan for 31 to 34 minutes.
