These cupcakes are WONDERFUL!! I use the Jose Cuervo margarita mix. Today I experimented using the mango margarita mix instead and they are delicious! I also add a little lime salt when making the icing and it adds that salt tang to the icing! So easy to make and definitely a crowd pleaser!!

Made these for a birthday in my office and everyone loved them. I added sea salt to the top for a salted glass and that really cut down on the sweet. Huge hit!

I made these for a party yesterday and they were a HIT! I received so many compliments and people were even taking pictures of them. Any recipe that calls for an entire pound of sugar for the frosting is obviously going to be extremely sweet.. so I only used ablout 2 1/2 of the 4 cups the recipe calls for. That was also with doubling the shortening and butter amounts because when I put in 1/2 cup of each like the recipe calls for, it barely looked like enough frosting to ice more than 5 or 6 cupcakes which I thought was odd. So I would definitely recommend doubling the recipe!

I loved these cupcakes! they are sooo good! Nice and moist and lovely pink color. I'm not even finished baking them, and I've already eaten two of them! They are so full of Strawberry flavor! I made them 'virgin' (no Tequila)because I'm sharing them with neighbors that don't drink. I used Master of Mixes brand Strawberry daiquiri/margarita mix. I'm sure the frosting will be wonderful also! (I like sweet things)

I am disappointed with the way these turned out. I got the email a couple days ago and decided to make them for the Cinco de Mayo party I am attending tonight. The cake has NO hint of tequila (I know the alcohol cooks out and leaves a flavor and I couldn't taste it. I even brushed the fresh cake with tequila when it came out of the oven). The icing is EXTREMELY sweet for my taste. I wish I could have seen the "note" for substituting some tequila for mix before now as that might have helped the flavor! :-/
