they make a pectin especially for freezer jam. it uses way less sugar, almost half. you can also use splenda or other sweetner. I have also mixed sugar free/fat free jello in with the fruit. it offers a beautiful color and enough sweetness. you can either use the same flavor as the fruit or mix flavors like orange jello with strawberries or lemon with blueberries.
