Ingredients

box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker® Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
1/4
cup stout beer
1/4
cup vegetable oil
1
egg
1
container (12 oz) Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 8- or 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir brownie mix, pouch of chocolate syrup, beer, oil and egg until well blended. Spread batter in pan.
  • 2 Bake 8-inch pan 38 to 40 minutes, 9-inch pan 34 to 37 minutes, or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • 3 Spread frosting evenly over brownies. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

Made these last week with regular stout beer. Now today I'm making them with Vanilla Stout Beer from Stone Arch Brewery in Appleton, WI. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

You could use other beers than stout. If you want a different type of flavor, I would suggest a lambic, they have different fruit flavors.
