box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
cup water
cup vegetable oil
tablespoons adobo sauce (from can of chipotle chiles)
container (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped cream cheese frosting
tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Place mini paper baking cup in each of 42 mini muffin cups.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir brownie mix, pouch of chocolate syrup, water, oil, egg and adobo sauce until blended. Fill muffin cups about three-fourths full, using about 1 tablespoon batter in each.
  • 3 Bake 18 to 21 minutes or until toothpick inserted in edge of brownie comes out clean. (Do not overbake.) Cool 5 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • 4 Frost brownies with cream cheese frosting; sprinkle with pepper flakes.

Expert Tips

Simplify by baking the brownies in a 13x9-inch pan about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool at least 1 hour. After frosting, cut brownies into small squares (7 rows by 6 rows or smaller) and serve in miniature paper or foil baking cups.

Look for cans of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce in the international section of the grocery store.

If you don’t have enough mini muffin pans, refrigerate the batter until ready to bake and cool the pan 10 to 15 minutes before reusing; add 1 to 2 minutes to the bake time.
