These are really good cookies but the dough is very dry and crumbly. Don't know what I did wrong. Followed the recipe exactly. I had to add a little water and knead the dough to make it moist enough to roll out. I agree the frosting needs more orange juice. It would be good on some orange cranberry bread. My grandchildren loved them. I guess that's all that really counts.

Made these last Christmas & I'm going to agree with the 2 other prior reviewers,- the icing DID Make that cookie FABULOUS!!,- it was DELISCIOUS- however- I too felt it was a little crispier than I would have liked & may make them thicker next time- & I also changed up the icing with a heavier hand with the Orange Juice because the "orange flavor" fell a little "flat" at first for me....- So,-overall- great, tasty, seasonal cookie, very "holiday" inspired, Awsome icing,- but I will make them thicker next time so they're not "TOOOOO crispy"... -Oh, and they cooked rapidly!!!- do not take your eyes beyond 4min.! :)

Watch the bake time. My package of Betty Crocker Sugar cookie mix said to bake for 5-7 minutes at 350(I had non-stick pan) and that was for 1/4in size cookies. Sure enough mine were ready at 5. I used orange juice in the frosting and loved the flavor. I skipped the milk and did 3 tablespoons OJ for a stronger flavor. My only complaint is the cookies came out a little crispier than I wanted, I might stick with a 1/4 inch next time but was something different and tastey.
