Spiced Baked Chickpeas

We added the kick of cayenne pepper to baked chickpeas for a satisfying vegetarian snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Dash ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • Salt to taste

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, toss all ingredients until chickpeas are coated. Spread mixture in single layer on ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan or cookie sheet.

    Bake 25 to 35 minutes, stirring halfway through baking time, or until chickpeas are dry and toasted.

    If desired, you can remove the skins from the chickpeas before tossing with the oil and spices.
