I really liked these! I have been starting to look for more vegetarian meals. I don't care to eat meat all the time. My 15 yr old son does, so this was a test also. He thought they were turkey meatballs. (they texture I guess)he liked them! I still haven't told him. I definately added parm cheese, salt & pepper. And also sauted the onion & garlic. TIP...use a cookie scooper to drop into the wheat germ (I mixed it with bread crumbs too) So much easier and not messy on your hands. I also used brown rice. I just hope they freeze ok.

Tried the recipe again and even better this time around. I sauteed 1/2 the onion with garlic and let cool. I also used panko italian bread crumbs instead which had a better taste. I still added parm cheese, salt and pepper to the recipe. When I had problems rolling the meatballs I sprinkled more bread crumbs on top of the mixture which made it easier to roll. I also baked them 400 for 20 min. I sprayed the pan and then the top of the meatballs, turned them after 10 minutes for even browning. This is worth trying.

Really good, I will make again. I added parm cheese to the recipe as I would with a traditional meatball recipe. I also added salt and pepper. I rolled them in a combination of oat bran, bulgar, and parm cheese.

This was really good! My husband I and really enjoyed it and did not miss the meat at all. This was a very filling meal and EASY to make--no hamburger to thaw! The texture of these "meatballs" was almost like a REAL meatball. My daughters, ages 9 and 4, didn't even notice they weren't made with meat! I used brown rice, old-fashioned oats, and whole-wheat pasta. Make sure to "squish" the meatballs really hard in your hand before trying to roll them in the wheat germ. This recipe will be in my regular rotation.

did not like this at all. it was not good. i will not be making this again. the only positive thing i got out of this was for the first time in my life the rice i made came out right. that part tasted good, the rest however did not.

My husband even liked. I almost preferred the taste of rice than the meat!

I would like to suggest a healthier recipe: Instead of: Use whole wheat spaghetti, brown rice, whole wheat bread crumbs, skim milk and canola oil. Am going to make this recipe using the above changes. This will change the calories, etc. and I believe it will result in a much healthier meal, especially for diabetics and dieters.

Would it be possible to substitute brown rice for white rice? We do not use white rice.

These are delicious and a big hit with my friends! They also taste good heated up as leftovers, so they''re great to take to work for lunch.
