This soup was super easy to make and even my kids loved it! The only change I made was adding some pan fried onions and a little more heat with smoked paprika.

It is rotel dip with milk, corn and beans....of course it isn't good for you! lol Think about it! But is so amazing! I found the recipe in one of my grandmother's old BC cookbooks and had to make it! It's great with a 1/2lb of ground beef or shredded chicken in it too, very quick, easy and versatile. Just not healthy (And I'm not complaining!!)

This was really good, but I made a few modifications...I melted the cheese in chicken broth, used Green Giant Chipotle corn and added a can of drained diced potates...then added fajita seasoning to taste. Guess you could say i used the recipe as a base then embellished. I used no milk at all. Was awesome...

I liked this. I always thought these review boards were for people who actually made the recipe and want to comment. I didnt know they turned this into a nutritional debate board. I am a bit baffled why people who were 'appauled' at the amount of sodium and fat didnt just close the window. No comment necessary. Besides I will take the advice a nutritionist over a recipe rate and review board. I dont see how people expected recipes found on a Betty Crocker website would be healthy. They do have a healthy recipe section. Perhaps they should try there or a site that is for healthy recipes. It seems common sense to me. Besides, bad foods are ok in moderation. I could see their complaints if every recipe had numbers like that or every meal was like that. You can have anything occasionally if you show a bit of discipline. Personally I like to get suggestions from these reviews, not personal opinion about the nutrition counts and ingredients.

I changed the recipe based on reviews and my cooking knowledge and my five spoons rating is based on my result. I added an entire package of frozen corn, a finely chopped celery stalk, two finely chopped carrots, diced cherry tomatoes, and probably an additional 1 and 1/2 cups of milk. The addition of the veggies diluted the saltiness of the dish, added nutrition, and color to the dish. We really enjoyed this satifying dish.

Nutrition is important, more than anything else really. But just don't make it if you are concerned about the salt. No salt ingredient are good, so use them. There are plenty of healthy recipes on this site, you don't have to make every recipe. This soup is probably delicious, and fine on occassion for a healthy person. There are also sites that only offer healthy recipes.

This was fast and easy. It cooked up so quickly (no meat), and I was able to pretty much just use leftovers and things I had in the cupboard. I don't usually have Velveta cheese, but I looked for a way to use leftovers from a holiday recipe, and found this. A quick dinner, and leftovers for lunch / snack.

Have to agree with all the people who were appalled at the amount of sodium in this one. More than a days worth in one bowl of soup??!!!! Please, please do better than this with your recipes!
