EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Purchase shortening formed in oblong packages marked for easy cutting and measuring. It eliminates messy measuring in cups.

Spray the inside of the measuring cup with cooking spray so molasses will slide out of the cup easily.

Excellent recipe. I used puréed ginger which added another dimension of flavor. Will make again. Cookies freeze well also.

The cookies were ok but hard to roll dough was dry and followed the directions I would suggest 1/4C less flour and they would be perfect.

This recipe worked great. I'm not much of a cook and followed it to the T and they came out perfect. Came out so well I would have thought they were the great molasses cookies my mom made. I used a counter mixer and used a small scoop as I see another review person wrote and it worked just great.
