They may have an unusual name, but these rich cinnamon-sugar cookies are great for the holidays or anytime you want a tasty cinnamon treat.

Wanted something super quick & easy; this was it! Followed reviews & used all butter. Also used a small ice cream scoop to make rolling balls a cinch! Cut the time in 1/2.

Everyone loves these cookies! I will not try another snickerdoodle recipe. People ask me to make these all the time whether its my mom to make them so she can take them to work or my bosses wife to have for christmas. I say these cookies are best softer so its best to take them out at 8 minutes or even earlier and let them cook on the sheet for a couple minutes. I found a trick for coating the cookie with cinnamon sugar. If you put the cinnamon and the sugar in a small round bowl, then scoop a ball of dough, drop it into the sugar mix and pick up the bowl and move in a circular motion so the cookie is coated evenly.

Are these cakey cookies, or crispy? I prefer my snickerdoodles a bit on the crispy side.

These cookies turned out great! Plus, I only had to not use the cinnamon and my husband really enjoyed eating them, especially right out of the oven. I used 1c of butter rather than shortening, because I hate the taste of shortening. I find, like others, that the 8mins is perfect and then cool on the rack. I love that they are easy to make. My husband doesn't usually eat cookies and he said he would eat these. yea!

These cookies were absolutely amazing! I didn't add the baking soda or cream of tartar and they came out soo delicious. My husband is a huge fan of cinnamon and he couldn't stop eating them. I baked them in a 400F oven for exactly 8 minutes then transferred them to a wire rack. They were perfect!! I will be making these over and over again.

These cookies turned out excellent!! However, where it says "Servings 4" it should say "48" or "4 dozen" so that I would have known to reduce it by half so that it would fit in my new mixer. Otherwise, wonderful recipe. Thank you!

Great flavor but they didn't turn out pretty. Had a pretty good spacing between all of them but they still spread out and ended up making one big cookie. Any ideas on why? (I did use 2 sticks of butter instead of the shortening since I didn't have any.)

Very easy to make...I used a bit more sugar in my sugar/cinnamon mixture. My first batch I went a little too large for my cookie size, so had to make two batches for my cookie exchange. They were a hit at the exchange, so I made them again for work...gone in a day!
