EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Long ago, little cookies that could be made quickly were given the nonsense name Snickerdoodles.

Rise to the occasion! If using self-rising flour, there is no need to add cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.

For a fun flavor change to these sweet little gems, use apple pie spice instead of cinnamon.

To ensure recipe success if using a vegetable oil spread, use a spread with at least 65% vegetable oil.

Yes, it made 4 dozen. They were wonderful! I had a slight pre-bake freak out, but it worked out. They were light, soft, & great to eat! I definately will make these again! I made a dough one day & baked them 2 days later. This was a pleasure to make & give to my family!

I love these cookies! They are light and perfect. Great for my house because my parents are on diets, but I NEED to have cookies in the house. Always seems to make more than 4 dozen, usually closer to 5 dozen, but I'm not complaining :)
