package Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix

  1. Preheat oven to 425. Unroll piecrust in pie pan.
  2. Peel, core and slice apples . Mix apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest, and flour. Pour into pie crust.
  3. Mix remaining cinnamon and sugar together in small shallow bowl.
  4. Prepare sugar cookie mix as directed on package. Roll two teaspoons worth of dough into balls, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Flatten cookie balls to about 1/4 inch thickness. Place cookie dough on top of apples over lapping slightly.
  5. When pie top is completely covered with cookies bake in oven for 40-45 minutes. If crust gets too dark, cover crust with aluminum foil.
