Keep 5 ingredients on hand for a down-home side dish you can have ready in 15 minutes.

Ingredients

1
slice turkey bacon, cut into small slices
2
tablespoons finely chopped green bell pepper
1
can (8.3 oz) baked beans
1/4
cup chopped tomato
1
tablespoon thick-and-spicy hickory-smoked barbecue sauce

Directions

  • 1 In 1-quart saucepan, cook bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Remove bacon from saucepan, leaving drippings in pan. Cook bell pepper in bacon drippings, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • 2 Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in beans, tomato, barbecue sauce and bacon. Cook until thoroughly heated.

Expert Tips

Have regular bacon on hand? Use it in place of the turkey bacon.

These beans are the perfect partners for grilled hamburgers.
