Great parties start with great appetizers. Smoked salmon and cheese baked into tiny tarts will pave a flavorful way to a grand evening.

I made these for a snack for card club--a few people liked them okay, but they weren't that good. We thought they were better warm than cold, but still not great. I don't plan to make them again.

I have to agree that this is a really great recipe. What''s even better about this is you can add a bunch of different things to it, you don''t just have to use salmon and chedder. I''ve made these with spinach, feta and sun dried tomatoes; turkey ham, white cheddar and chives; and asiago, parmesan, ricotta and crab. Next I plan on trying a roasted red pepper, romano and artichoke mixture. I also like to play with spices like cumin, sage, thyme and dill. Also, using the reduced fat Bisquick, low-fat milk and egg substitute is just as good as a previous reviewer said. It doesn''t take away from the flavor at all. I highly recommend it.

These are delicious and are now a part of my permanent recipe file! The first batch I made following the recipe as written. In the second batch I used reduced fat Bisquik, fat free milk and sour cream, reduced fat sharp cheddar, and Egg Beaters instead of 2 eggs. To my great surprise, these tasted exactly the same as the original recipe. Just a tip for those who may be watching fat and/or cholesterol.

This is a great recipe for gatherings - I made them recently for a candle party I cohosted - everyone loved them! I was able to make the batter the night before and that made it fairly easy to prepare them the next day. My only complaint is the first time I tried them, they tasted a little bland. The last time I made them, I added extra salmon (double the amount called for), and added a parmesan/asiago cheese mixture (instead of cheddar, plus a little garlic salt to zest it up a bit. Alot of the party guests thought we had store boughten these!

This turned out really good. I made a batch but I eat a low carb lifestyle so I substituted foil pouch salmon and doubled the meat and cheese and added freshly ground pepper and sea salt. They turned out wonderful! Definitely will make again!
