I used Picante Clamato instead of tomato juice to give it a little kick. I didn't use pasta, I added a can of kidney beans, a can of cannellini beans, and a can of garbanzo beans instead. I'm thinking of trying Italian seasoning next time instead of the basil and oregano measurements. This recipe is perfect for making overnight and taking a thermos of it to work on a cold rainy day.

This soup is great. My 19yr.old granddaughter asks me to make it once a week. Didn't have tomato juice so I added two 8oz. cans of tomato sauce plus 16oz.water. Also, add one can of white beans and one of red. Cooked the pasta separate. Served with garlic bread. Makes a hearty meal.

It was wonderful!!! My husband is a meat and potatoes guy and when I looked for the leftovers to eat for lunch, they were gone! After calling him, he told me he took them! That was enough to let me know to make it again!!! Love it!

This was the first soup I ever made and it was wonderful!! I didn't put in the pasta, but added a can of great northern beans, 1/2" potato chunks, V-8 juice in place of tomato juice and diced fire roasted tomatoes in place of the Muir Glen tomatoes. Had this with french bread and what a hearty meal. This is a realy keeper....

yummy! ... I used vegetable broth, so I had to add a packet of onion soup mix to give it more flavor, but it was yummy and perfect for a cold day:)

This was delicious!!! I used whole wheat rotini and doubled the amount. I also used 2 cans each of kidney beans great northern beans. I used match stick carrots also as my kids prefer them in soups over chunks of carrot. I added the pasta for 20 min... then set my crock pot on keep warm as we were leaving the house for dance class, and it had all fallen apart by the time we got back 2 hours later. So, this will be something I make when I'm home for the last step.
