My husband has gout in his feet and is unable to eat beef. So I used a boneless pork roast instead and used the rest of the ingredients you have listed, only I used low-sodium vegetable juice. The meal was delicious - it's a keeper, I'll be making more often. Thanks for sharing!

I made this for my father because Swiss Steak is one of his favorite meals. We loved it. It is such a simple recipe. I used sirlion instead of round steak and added salt and two beef boullion cubes to give it a little more beefy flavor.
