This was great! I added a can of cream of celery soup and a big can of mushrooms. My bf said he didn't know if he liked the roast or the vegetables more.

I always flour both sides of a roast and then sear it in a heavy pot, and a little oil over med/high heat to brown. Could even use the salsa to deglaze the pot after removing the roast. Then put the salsa with all the little bits of beefy goodness that were stuck to the bottom of the pot over the roast in the crockpot.

The roast & veggies were cooked perfectly in this recipe but the salsa gave it a really odd flavor! Even my husband said he didn't like it too much. I was sad to have used a perfectly good roast on this recipe. :-( Will not make this again!!

This was my first attempt at using my slow cooker. I cooked it for ten hours and the meat tasted like butter. It fed my family of three and we had about half of it left over. For about $16 and ten minutes of work, it created six meals. Buy a package of egg noodles and pour the leftover meat on top to create a "Yankee Southwestern Pot Roast".

This was so simple and delicious. My family didn't leave any leftovers! I added an extra half jar of salsa - next time I'll add the full second jar. My family likes to "mop".

Perfect for my picky eater. I have never seen my son go for a second serving of food until now. This was super easy.. I have never cooked with a slow cooker and was worried all day at work, but when I walked into the house and smelt the flavors I was pleased dinner was ready when I got home.
