This sauce is the best ever! I wanted to cut down on processed foods, and finding this recipe alone made the search worth it. I chose to use only one pound of meat (which I used the sweet italian sausage). I am curious how a vegetarian version might turn out. As I've made it with the meat and following the recipe, it is 10 stars in my book!!!

I made and it's awesome! Meaty and not overly saucy. I did leave out the mushrooms and flakes because I don't like them, but my family didn't seem to mind. They both loved it and it's a definate do over. Thanks! :)

This was only "okay". It tastes like its missing something. I followed the recipe to a tee, but used lean ground beef instead of sausage. Maybe that's why, but I won't be making this again. I hope it tastes better tomorrow since it makes a lot.

I made this sauce for a Christmas Eve Eve get together with some friends. It was easy and delicious. It served 12 with no problem, but I doubt it would serve the 24 it says it does. I'll decrease the red pepper the next time. It was just a little spicy for my taste, but everyone else loved it. I used half beef and half Italian sausage. Very meaty.

Meaty sauce!! WOW! It was great, but SUPER meaty....added 28 ounces of crushed tomatoes. Went ahead and split into four containers and froze for easy quick dinners

This is a good hearty sauce, with flavor! I used 1/2 ground beef and 1/2 sausage and it turned out perfect. I used the leftover sauce as an appetizer - warmed it up and served it has a dipping sauce, with a warm, sliced baguette. YUM!

This was really good but a little too meaty for me. I think I prefer all veggie sauce thickened with tapioca instead of meat. http://getcrocked.com/2011/08/17/crock-pot-vegetable-spaghetti-sauce/

I have been making this for years. Everyone loves it. Since my family doesn't eat pork, I usually replace that with ground beef solely. It comes out perfectly every time
