Ok, we tried this one last week and if you like "rice soup" then this is the dish for you. There is no logical reason under the sun to put this into a slow cooker all day...we started it in the morning and I checked on it at lunch 3.5 hours later, and it was already done. I should have shut off the cooker then and put it in a bowl at that point, but wanted to "follow the directions"! - Anyway, it was done to the point of sticking to the bottom of the cooker. I added some water and in a few more hours HAD to shut it off because by then the rice had totally turned to mush - thus the comment about "rice soup". Personally, for me, I will take this one out of my recipe collection as I was not impressed with it at all.

I used chicken breast and it was tasty, except I was out so it ended up cooking too long (my fault) so it would've been better than mine turned out.

I've made this a couple of times and we like it. Last time I used a skin on 1/2 Turkey B r e a s t so I browned it well before I put it in. My only change is to cut the wild rice down a bit. It's way too much for the two of us and the rice doesn't necessarily reheat into much more than porridge if it's already been cooking in the crock pot all day.
