I chopped up a pork roast, coated the pieces in the flour which I seasoned with pepper, rosemary, garlic powder, and tony chacherie's. I browned that in olive oil on the stove and then added them to the crock pot with the rest of the ingredients. I can see how this would be bland 'as is' but I always add more spice to everything! Thyme, oregano, celery flakes, basil leaves, garlic pepper, parsley and tony chacherie's and a quartered onion, are the basic seasonings I put in almost everything, especially if it goes in the crock pot. We enjoyed this and like so many others, I love walking through the door to the smell of supper in the air! I also put everything in the crockpot the night before and put it on to cook when I get up in the morning.

This does take some extra prep time but it turned out pretty good. I added some extra spices to it and everyone loved it. And I always love being able to walk into the house and smell dinner cooking!

I rated in the middle as I haven't cooked this...yet. To luv2cook83 - you rated this low due to blandness...I would agree-because I see there is no herbs and the jar gravies are awful...sorry to the manufacters of these...but they are. I've made recipes before calling for "jarred gravies" and they are soooooo bland. I'm going to use a packet of Pork Gravy mix (will not say brand) because we find it to be out of this world. Also I suggest some fresh rosemary and fresh thyme. I love fresh thyme...when using rosemary I just lay on top while cooking then pull off at the end as I don't like to eat is persay - just love the flavor it gives dishes. Try this again and make these adjustments and I'm sure you'll love this recipe...I'm going to give it a try!
