Slow Cooker Garlic Beef Roast

beef chuck roast (2 to 3 lb)

medium onion, halved, quartered
1
pouch (9 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy roasted garlic cooking sauce
2
tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

  • 1 Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add beef; cook 4 to 6 minutes or until brown on all sides.
  • 2 Place beef in slow cooker; top with onion. Reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking sauce in small bowl; refrigerate. Pour remaining cooking sauce over beef.
  • 3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until beef is tender. Remove beef from slow cooker to serving plate or cutting board; cover to keep warm.
  • 4 Add flour to reserved cooking sauce; stir with whisk until blended. Gradually stir mixture into sauce in slow cooker. Cover; cook about 5 minutes or until sauce begins to thicken. Cut beef into slices; serve with sauce. If desired, season to taste with salt and pepper.
