great recipe! Very easy and so tasty. I add an extra can of beans and use stewed tomatoes because they are easy to pick out for our picky eaters :)

I made this according to the recipe and I agree with the other reviews that it needs something. It was a little bland but not bad.

I have tried this recipe a few times and felt it needed a little more flavor and heat. I substituted the diced tomato for the diced tomato with green chile peppers. I also used a spicy tomato sauce rather than just the standard tomato sauce. I used 2 cans of kidney beans instead of chili beans in sauce (I couldn't find chili beans in sauce). My husband loved it. I Next time I might use another tablespoon of chili powder to add an extra punch of flavor.

I made this on the stovetop because I started too late to use the slow cooker. I added 2 sliced serrano chiles (seeded and deveined so it wouldn't be too spicy for the kids) along with the garlic. When the meat was browned and the veggies cooked I added 1/2 a beer. Then I used 2 cans of chili beans. It's very good. I will definitely use this recipe again- probably with the same and possibly other tweaks.

This recipe was ok. We used the beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce that was already seasoned for chili and added the seasoning, but it still needed more seasoning. I prefer a chili with more beans than this, next time we will use three cans of beans. Otherwise it is a very good, basic starter chili for someone who is still learning to cook.

The recipe is basic, you will have to add your own spices. The first time I made it was okay, this time is better because I added my much needed spices like cumin, EXTRA chili powder, paprika, black pepper, jalapeños, and a few shots of hot sauce. If you don't want it too thick try a little broth. (p.s. use name brand can goods..believe me it makes a difference) ;)

Really good and really easy to make! I only used 1lb meat and dehydrated onions. Husband likes alittle more spice and said a jalapeno would be perfect in it. Served with crackers, cheese and mustard
