Family loved this. Couldn't fing the garlic broth so I added garlic powder and freshly cracked pepper. This will go into our menu for the rest of the winter.

this was my first time cooking this. i followed the instructions, but after cooking it, it wasn't soup like it was more like a mushy stuffing. i'm not sure if the rice soaked up all of the broth, but it just wasn't great. maybe i'll try it again another time.

This is just an observation/reminder. I have read in several recipe reviews, and twice in reviews for this recipe alone about results not looking like the picture. This is true especially with dessert recipe pictures. In the pictures they use food stylists. It is their job to make it look appealing and 'perfect'. They chop, decorate etc similar to a painter. Unless the home cook is a food stylist who is trying to make things look absolutely perfect and take a long time on every tiny detail the result for the home cook most likely will not look like the pictures. They use them to make it look nice and give you an idea of how the result will look. I have read many reviews that say a recipe that takes 20 minutes is time consuming let alone spending 20 minutes on each item with tweezers etc.Of course it wont look exactly like the picture.

it was really good!! i think next time im going to only use 1 can of potato soup and more broth, to make it more soup like. i couldnt find garlic flavored broth, so i just used the normal kind and put garlic powder in the soup. i am going to use peas and green beans next time, maybe some corn. my husband loved it and he hates soup!

I read the reviews listed here and wondered how could this recipe be so bad. I found out the easy way that it wasn't. I made a large pot of this soup and it was devoured by my family. I didn't change many things in the recipe but did find that some tweaks that helped. I used a rotissiere chicken, corn and a packaged box of flavored wild rice. I added the seasonings that came with the rice -- this gave the soup great flavor. I also used increased the size of the batch and used a 48oz can of chicken broth. According to my son, I already need to make another batch -- he is on his fourth bowl.

I'm not sure why there are so many poor reviews of the soup. My family loves it and it is more soupy. Maybe other's added too much rice, this would take away from the soupy nature of the soup. I've made this a couple times for us now.

I was very disappointed in this recipe. It was so dry (even after adding the half and half) and the flavor was just not great. I had not used wild rice before and discoverd I do NOT like the flavor. I think "Betty Crocker" should take into considerations the differences in crock pots. Mine cooks much faster than the recommended time. This is not a "keeper".

I used leftover chicken but did not change the cooking time so the rice soaked up all the juice resulting in a casserole moreso than soup. I will try again, but next time I will cook the rice and add it during the last 15 minutes. In addition, mixed vegetables will be the rule of thumb in our house.

FAIL. Attemped a second time and... FAIL. I wish we could upload our own pictures of how it actually looked. Hint: it didn't look like the picture. If you're on a diet, I recommend this meal because you won't want to eat it.

Great recipe (perfect with grilled cheese!) I did make some little changes. The store was out of cr. of potato soup, so I used cr. of onion. Also, I had some left over brown rice, so I put in 3/4 cup. I also added chopped celery. When I chopped up the chicken thigh I threw in the bone thinking it would add some more flavor. I also used fat free evap. milk. I'll keep this recipe at my finger tips.
