EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Some cooking apples hold their shape better after cooking. Try Jonagold, Rome Beauty, Golden Delicious, Beacon, San Rose or Wealthy apples.

Like apple pie with Cheddar cheese? Sprinkle these hot baked apples with shredded Cheddar cheese instead of the nuts.

I made this last year for Thanksgiving and will make it this year again. Absolutely love it! I serve it with Vanilla Ice Cream to make it a little fancier. :)

Personally I was very disappointed! The spice was over powering and I may of used the wrong type of apple because it cooked up and didn't hold it's shape. The ideal is good and I may try it with my own apple pie recipe and add cranberries, which I love!

I was very disappointed in these. It could of been the type of apples that I used, but they didn't hold there shape and the taste wasn't as good as I expected. I served it at a dinner for my family and no one cared enough for it to ask me to fix it again.
