LOCATION

Directions

  • 1 Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Between pieces of plastic wrap or waxed paper, place each chicken breast smooth side down; beginning in center of breast, gently pound with flat side of meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1/4 inch thick.
  • 2 Place 1/2 ham slice and 1/2 cheese slice on each breast. Roll up, folding in sides. Place rolls, seam sides down, in single layer in slow cooker. In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients; spoon over chicken.
  • 3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes.
  • 4 Remove rolls from cooker to cutting board. Beat sauce in cooker with wire whisk until smooth. Spoon about 1/3 cup sauce onto each of 6 plates. Cut each roll crosswise into thin slices; arrange on sauce.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

The creamy sauce is delicious spooned over hot cooked rice or noodles served along with the chicken.

The marinade for chicken, also known as white Worcestershire sauce, is lighter in color than regular Worcestershire sauce. However, there isn’t a large amount of the sauce in this recipe, so the color won’t matter very much if you use the regular brown-colored sauce.

You need a vitamix bndeelr so you can add easy fruit syrups to the freezer list! I make so much of it from our seasonal local fruits and it is soooo much better for you with less sugar than regular syrups. With my yummy whole wheat pancakes it almost makes it a healthfood...almost. We are big breakfast folks though so half a freezer of fruit syrups and the other half with jams is normal around here and still doesn't pull me through the winter/spring season completely. Our garage freezer is stocked with frozen fruit and homemade ice cream. Need I mention how much I love our ice cream maker that allows us not to need rock salt and hand crank (although that is fun throwback for the kids once a year maybe)...Anyway..my point was you would go crazy with a vitamix bndeelr. You can also make real food fast with it like Tortilla soup, sauces, etc. You would LOVE it!

I usually LOVE the recipes i make from this website, but i have to say i was very dissapointed with this one. i decided to try it and it was very bland hardly any taste at all.. the sauce was runny and tasteless. the outcome looked absolutely nothing like the picture shown..will not waste the time and money on this recipe again!
