This meal was delicious. I used frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts instead of the bone-in breasts. I put them in the crockpot still frozen and cooked everything on low all day (around 11 hours). The chicken came out wonderfully flavorful and very tender. It probably didn't need to go 11 hours, but it still worked. I will be making this again!

This recipe was a nice change from heavy sauces that usually go into slowcooker recipes. My husband loved it and he usually won't eat anything with artichokes or olives in it. I will definately be making this again! I might try some capers in it the next time. Also, I think the cooking instructions are a little off, after 5 hours on low heat the chicken was not done, had to cook on high for about a hour.

A big hit for a crock pot recipe in this house, husband and children both enjoyed. Used calamata olives, as that is what I had, but had a nice flavor and was something different. Will definitely make this again.

Baabra, I have used my crock pot frequently since the 1980's. I think you will find that in certain recipes bone in breasts do better that boneless. The chicken stays together better when the bone is in. When you clean the chicken, remove any small loose bones and you will find that the bones don't break lose in the liquid. When you remove the breasts from the crock pot use a large spoon on pancake turner so it stays together. I have not tried this recipe yet, but when you use boneless breasts they fall apart and make it more like a chicken stew (unless they are well browned before you put them in the pot and even then they sometimes break apart). Beside, the bones give a lot more flavor.

I haven't tried this recipe as yet........but concerned about using bone-in, rather than boneless, chicken breasts and having to strain the tomatoes and artichokes for chicken bones. What do you think? Barbara

I've made this 3 or 4 times. We all just love it. I substituted capers for the olives. I also serve over yellow rice. It is delicious!! Reminds me of chicken piccata.

This recipe was more like a gourmet meal. The flavors combined of the artichokes, tomatoes, onions and olives simply makes this so unique. It you didn't like artichokes before you will love them after this meal. I really liked using the bone-in skinless chicken as it makes the chicken even more tender!! I combined with brown rice with broccoli, scallions and poured the juice over it.... SIMPLY DELICIOUS.....

I substituted boneless, skinless chicken breasts and it was fabulous. My 3 year old son usually turns his nose up at chicken asked for seconds. It was fabulous!
