I believe one could use italian flavored bread crumbs in place of the plain and eliminate the italian seasoning if not available. This sounds really good and passing it along to others.

I'm sure this would taste just as good heated again as a left-over, but there was nothing left over! My entire family enjoyed this! (bread crumbs didn't last through the sauce, became mushy but still tasted great)

Made this for dinner tonight. Was supper easy to prepare & stretch to feed more people. Used six chicken breasts because my crock pot is a 5 qt same amount of sauce. The chicken was tasty and fall apart tender. Didn't feel like it needed the bread crumbs they were kinda mushy and slid off the chicken. Will try it without them next time. Made a 16oz box of penne & heated up extra sauce. Served with steamed broccoli and bread sticks. Good meal for a chilly fall night.

I just made this recipe for my new husband and brother-in-law last night and they LOVED it. As a newly-wed (and a new cook) I'm constantly looking for easy recipes and this was super easy and very tasty. I couldn't find bread crumbs at my local grocery, so I used garlic butter flavored croutons instead that I ground up in my food processor and it tasted AMAZING! I will definitely be making this again :)

BEST at-home Chicken Parm I have ever had and SO easy, my hubby can make it. :-) (and did) Chicken is so tender it falls apart when you poke it with a fork. AMAZING recipe. I served mine over spaghetti noodles and instead of plain bread crumbs, used italian ones...and topped with cheddar, mozzarella and 3 blend parm cheese. So good.
