Good recipe but bland -I did not have garlic cloves so I used minced garlic. I used 1 heaping teaspoon, will use 2 teaspoons next time I make it and boost the amount of herbs as well. Also used boneless chicken breasts which to me is a must.

This was good but I prefer to use skinless, boneless chicken breasts. If you do this you have to watch cooking time so it doesn't dry out. I also omit mushrooms and flour - kind of a combo of this recipe and the one here: http://getcrocked.com/2011/08/08/crock-pot-chicken-cacciatore/

I made this for the first time yesterday. We loved it! The only problem that I had was that the bones fell out of the chicken and we had little suprises as we were eating. Next time I will use boneless chicken breasts. I added spaghetti sauce, in addition to the tomatoes, and black olives. When everything was done, I added a little potato flour (an alternative to corn starch) to thicken up the sauce. Very good, will make this again!

This was a hit. I'm not sure why they said to use canned tomatoes instead of spaghetti sauce, however. I used the sauce instead. I also used fresh mushrooms, only because we don't like canned. I give it 4 stars because I changed the recipe but it was easy and very good!!:)

Not bad. The pan frying takes away from the easiness of dropping things in the crock pot. I used chic breasts. Would suggest 2 peppers, 1 onion, and alot more spices.

We did not like this, I should have read the reviews and used spaghetti sauce. It was very boring.

This recipe was delicious. I'd never cut up a whole chicken before so that took some time to learn, but it turned out really well and I was very pleased - the meat literally fell right off the bone and was so tender. I browned the meat in the skillet first and then cooked on low for 5 hours, and it was perfect. A few changes I made: no onions (personal preference), 3 cloves of garlic to make up for the lack of onions, and 30 minutes before taking the mix out of the crock pot I added spaghetti sauce to thicken it a little. Served over linguine for a dinner party and everyone raved about it! Next time I make it I'll definitely also have lots of bread to soak up the wonderful sauce!
