Blogger Angie McGowan of Eclectic Recipes shares a new twist on the traditional dump cake—this one made with brownie mix and cooked to perfection in your slow cooker. Best of all, you need just 3 ingredients!

can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
cup butter, cut into tablespoon-size pieces

  • 1 Line 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking parchment paper. Pour cherry pie filling into slow cooker. Sprinkle brownie mix over filling, spreading around with fork to make it level. Place pats of butter evenly over brownie mix. Drizzle chocolate syrup (from brownie mix box) over top.
  • 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 2 hours. Uncover; cook 30 minutes longer or until center is set. Let stand 15 minutes (or until it stops bubbling) before serving. Scoop into bowls to serve.

Expert Tips

Serve with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.

Lining the slow cooker with cooking parchment paper, rather than spraying with cooking spray, is important because the brownie edges may start to burn otherwise.

Swap out the cherry pie filling for strawberry or raspberry pie filling.
