I made this recipe doubled yesterday for a potluck, and was really disappointed. The cooking time on this was way too long - it turned out very dry even after adding an additional 2 cups of milk to it. Only part of it actually took on the caramel color. It looked very unappetizing after sprinkling the sugar/cinnamon mix over it. I did use apricots and raisins, but even with all the dried fruits - it was too dry - I think serving it with cream might have made a difference. I might try this one more time and cook for less than the 3-4 hrs recipe states and instead of sprinkling top with the sugar and cinnamon, will add it to the body of the pudding. All in all, I felt this was a dismal failure, this is the first recipe from Betty Crocker's files that I have found to be less than 5 stars - this doesn't even come close!

Scrumptious!!! A little sweet so I ommitted the sugar, mixed in the cinnamon & added some nutmeg right in. Due other reviews I started keeping an eye on at 2 Hrs. took 3 1/2, very creamy. Definitly make again. I do not like Raisins so did not add them.

Absolutely delicioso! A bit on the sweet side for me ( but I'm not big on sweets). My family loved it. I am making it a second time today.

I found this recipe easy to fix and very tasty. I used brown rice for a more robust flavor. I also topped it with a couple of varieties of Cool Whip: French Vanilla and Cinnamon. That was very good. I added sugar; but with a topping, it doesn't need it. I only cooked it for 3 hours which was just right.

I loved this pudding it was so easy, and so good. The only thing I did different was I used cranberries instead of raisins. I will make this again

Very dry, needs more liquid to it. I had to add milk to it and more sugar and cinnamon than it calls for. I also think the 4hrs is way to long. I'm not sure where the caramel comes from, but there is nothing caramel about this recipe. Make at your disgression!!!

Finally.....an easy and great tasting Rice Pudding. I have tried several recipes, from scratch and had no success, until now. I used the Boil-in-a-bag rice, 10 minute cook time. I used two bags, which ended up being over 3 cups, and cooked it for 3 hours. I did not let the liquid cook completely out, so it didn't leave it dry. Maybe next time i will add the condensed milk to the slow cooker by itself, cook for a short time to get a little more caramel flavor, then add the other ingrdients. I omitted the rasins (we dont care for them ) and the sugar, being the pudding was sweet enough without it. I added in the cinnamon during the cooking process along withbthe vanilla. Next time I am going to scrape a vanilla bean into he pudding and adjust the extract. This will be my dessert for the next holiday party, along with some toppings for our guests to add on individually, spiced rum soaked raisins, cinnamon glazed pecans, mixed dried fruit rehydrated, Kaluha Whipped cream....I have so many other ideas. I suppose it could be a Rice Pudding Sundae Buffet. Can't wait.
