I found this recipe really easy and nice to have on hand, esp. for busier weeks. To try to make it healthier, I used the healthy request cream of mushroom soup and fat free milk. To add more flavor, I added a little bit of season salt to both the potato and green bean layers. I also added a smidge of garlic and onion powder to the beef before adding it to the soup/milk mixture. I think it turned out much better this second time around than the first time where I just followed the recipe straight.

Not very good. I followed others advice adding some other things to it to give it flavor but even with that all added in, the combination still didn't have much flavor.

This was sooo easy and the family loved it. I felt like I gave them a square meal and even my pickiest eater cleaned her plate. I will definitely make this again. The only thing I would do differently is to add salt and pepper to the layer of beans & hash browns before topping with the ground beef sauce.

I really really liked this. I cooked it up on a Sunday afternoon so I could monitor to keep it from burning. It was actually better on day two than right after it finished cooking. To help with the blandness, I added season salt to the potato layer so it was more like actual hashbrowns on the bottom. I found the hamburger layer was still a little bland, so my plan for the next time I make this is to season that layer with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder while browning the meat.

Perhaps I made this wrong (though I did follow directions exactly) but I found this to be flavorless slop. I even added rosemary, thyme, savory and allspice to give it a kind of earthy flavor after tasting it and that didn't help at all. I will not be making this again.

This is such a fun recipe...when it's done and you've stirred it you may question whether or not you want to eat it! It does not look great but it really tastes good. We referred to it as slop but tasty slop :)

Makes a whole lot, so unless I am cooking for kids and grandkids, I won't be making this one. I will do like the other reviews and add some cheese to it for more flavor.

We really like this at our house! I have four kids and it is a great dinner for a crazy school night! It is easy and inexpensive. I do agree it could use a little more flavor, but adding the extra fried onions on top give it that crunch and more onion flavor. Cheese always makes everything better also. I make this atleast once a month!

This ended up being a really good and hearty meal, but looked horrible :) We call it slop, just because everything blended together completely. We have made it more than once though, it is good. I would recommend having a side or salad to make it not such a boring meal though.
