Expert Tips

Try your favorite fully cooked sausage ring or other smoked sausage such as bratwurst or kielbasa in this recipe.

Make this dish super easy by buying prechopped onion. You’ll usually find it with the frozen vegetables.

Hearty whole-grain or dark bread, such as pumpernickel, and sliced crisp apples complement the flavors of this dish.

Made this last night on the spur of the moment with whatever I had on hand, and just followed the recipe loosely. So it ended up being made with chicken tenders and three different kinds of beans: 1 can each kidney, pinto and BBQ with maple. Because of the maple I left out the brown sugar and it was perfect! I can't wait to make it again with the Polish Sausage.
