Directions

  • 1 Mix all ingredients in 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

(Total time will vary with appliance and setting.)

Sprinkle beans with Betty Crocker® Bac~Os® bacon-flavor bits just before serving for that great smoky flavor that goes so well with baked beans.

You decide! Change the flavor of your baked beans by changing your barbecue sauce. Sweet, smoky sauces lend a smoother taste, and spicy or bold sauces give your beans a zesty taste.

My family has always liked my baked beans, but with this recipe they loved them. My nephew never ate baked beans till this recipe and he had seconds. Sweet baby rays was my bbq sauce of choice. The slow cooker was the reason I tried this recipe and it made it easier all around, from transferring them to cleaning.

I have been baking beans for more than 60 years and these are not baked beans. I have cooked real baked beans in my slow cooker using the regular Boston Baked Bean recipe. They came out great. Do not forget - you have to use real salt pork and molasses to make a good baked bean.

This recipe has been a hit for everyone that has tried it. I followed the recipe exactly for big crowds or half the recipe for a smaller crowd. Great side dish to BBQ Chicken.
