What makes this recipe is the Sloppy Joe Sauce and the Zucchini in my opinion. I had never cooked with Zucchini when I first tried this recipe but it definitely adds that extra flavor and texture it would be missing otherwise. The Sloppy Joe Sauce gives this recipe a little kick from your average boring ol' tomato sauce goulash. The rotini noodles are more fun than boring macaroni (I get the tri-colored ones to add some color). I've tried adding other vegetables but it just seems to throw the taste off. We have this every Halloween and we'll try to sneak it in several times during the year too. Everyone loves it as a nice change to regular goulash and it's a super easy recipe to throw together on a cool Fall night. Yum!

Funny... the people who posted negative comments didn't follow the recipe or change the ingredients in some way.

I didn't use the sloppy joe mix, I didn't think that it sounded very good. Instead I used tomato sauce and it was very good. The corn added a good different taste to it. Next time I'll try adding taco seasoning to the mix and put taco cheese on top. No sauce. My husbands idea thought I'd give it a try. This recipe gave me ideas, the original didn't sound as good.

This is a terrible recipe- it doesnt know what it is. It was disappointing- it had too many flavors to have any sort of a direction. Maybe it would be okay without adding the corn.

I only made half a recipe. I agree with some of the reviews, lacks a little in flavor. I added some ketchup and it made a lot of difference. I could not find any of the extra-thick-and-chunky sloppy joes sauce so I just used original (Manwitch). Even though I only made half a recipe I did put in the whole can of sloppy joes sauce (15 oz). Served with crackers. I give this recipe 2 spoons as is and 4 spoons with ketchup.

This recipe was just ok... Like many of the others we used regular sloppy joe mix and replaced the zuchinii with other vegs that we like better... Still turned out just ok.

i thought this would be much better, especially since my family loves sloppy joes. but they all agreed that something was missing in the flavor. really disappointing.

This was an o.k. recipe, I only used 1 cup of water and 1 can of corn, I added onions and spices, but, there was something missing in the taste. It needed something, I did not use zuchini, I never had zuchini before, so I skipped it. My husband had 2 servings and I had 1 which is usually the other way around. I had tons of left overs for lunch the next day. Maybe someone else will jot an idea down here to make it more tasty.
