In just over half an hour, busy cooks can put dinner on the table. Chicken, broccoli and rice make it a colorful meal-in-one.

Whoa, not good...my chicken was completely raw on the inside after 10 minutes (wound up cutting the breasts in half and cooking them in a different skillet for another 10 minutes) -- maybe it was too thick, I don't know. Very mustard-y, too, which sadly the fiance doesn't like, so the broccoli-rice mix was lost on him. It was easy enough to make, but desperately needed more flavor.

I served this meal for my family tonight, they came back looking for more and cleaned the skillet. Definitely will be making this meal again. Thanks. Babbs

tried the recipe for the first time...delic! But I changed a thing or two. Instead of cooking chicken two minutes on each side I cooked longer to ensure it was done at completion of rice. Also before cooking I lightly seasoned my chicken. Instead of frozen broccoli I used a frozen california medley. And finally instead topping with cheese I made a cheese sauce with cream colby jack and dijon mustard salt and pepper to taste. Pour over chicken and rice before serving....yum!

I would agree a little bland. Next time I will add a little garlic and marinate the chicken. I had to cut my chicken breasts up in cubes after the 10 minutes it says to cook because they were only registering at 140 degrees. The rice was still a bit undercooked at the 10 minutes mark as well. Could be a good easy recipe if doctored up a bit more.

I just made this for my family of 5 and it was delish!! I didnt think it was bland at all, but I did use a spicy hot mustard because I didnt have dijon. I also used the broccoli & cheese steamers and skipped the cheddar cheese at the end (I did add just a little at the end cause we love the cheesy, but it wasnt neccesary.

This was wonderful just the right hint of spice from the mustard. The rice was cooked perfect, and broccoli too. I will be making this again.

I have made this recipe for famiiies once they've brought a newborn baby home. The 'blandness' was good for new mommy and ended up being the one meal she and the new baby could tolerate. I usually deliver this with various side sauces, like green chili, hot sauces, etc so that other family members can 'doctor' it up on the plate the way they like. This is a meal you can cook ahead and then re-heat which is great for busy families.

If you are using a non stick pan why would you use a wire whisk to stir?

Where's the curry? My chicken divan recipe uses curry. Maybe adding some would appease those who've called it bland. I also think I'd cube up the chicken personally. And will definitely use the chicken broth.

This recipe was OK for a one time use. This will definitely not make it into our recipe box. I love dijon mustard so of course I thought this might be a great change.. Not. Kind of bland if I were you , doctor it up. read the below comments. As for my family and I this is a throw out.
