medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)

cans (15 to 16 ounces each) pork and beans

cup chili sauce

teaspoon yellow mustard

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, heat water to boiling over medium-high heat; stir in onion. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender.
  • 2 Stir in all remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed.

I needed something quick for a neighborhood potluck. This turned out great. I did not have any left over. I will definitely make this again.

I didn't do it exactly like the recipe called for. I sauteed onions and green peppers, then i added the beans, 3/4 cup BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup mustard and 1/4 cup "splenda brown sugar". I followed the recipe the rest of the way and they were a big hit with my kids and my husband!
