Skillet Baked Beans

Get old-fashioned baked beans in a super-quick 30-minute skillet version.

Ingredients

tablespoons water or fat-free chicken broth

medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)

cans (15 to 16 ounces each) pork and beans
1/4
cup chili sauce

teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, heat water to boiling over medium-high heat; stir in onion. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender.
  • 2 Stir in all remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed.

Would you like to bake the beans in the oven along with something else for dinner? After boiling, pour beans into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake at 350°F about 40 minutes.
