I baked them at 325 as suggested and baked a bit longer than 35 mins., I also used a 9x13 pan. They were cooked on the edges, but the center seems like it might be underdone. Or is it supposed to be gooey? Made them to sell and not sure how to package them.

love this recipe! I always bake brownies, and cookie bars, especially if using condensed milk, at 325 instead of 350. it may require a bit more baking time but they don't brown too much around the edges. also my cakes don't stick to bundt pans anymore when inverting. it works for me, hope this helps!!

To prevent burnt topping, I suggest that you should cover the pan for the first 20 minutes, and then let it cook uncovered for 15 minutes. It works for 7 layer cookies, it should work for this. By the way, you could make this into a 7 layer cookie by using only a stick of melted butter and the chocolate to moisten the brownie mix before putting on a greased, lined baking pan. After cooling, peel off the liner, and use a cutting board to cut it upside down. You can then put them on a plate right side up for serving.

I too had problems with cook time, even baked for 35 minutes was too long..........great tasting, but only edible in the middle! I'm guessing that the sweetened condensed milk has alot to do with that, but it makes the brownies!

A good crowd pleaser. The college kids gobbled these up... Of the ones I salvaged. Cook time is STILL too long. I baked for 35 mins and 30-32 mins would have been better. Sweetened Cond milk ended up creating burned edge which I had to chip away from the pan with my husband holding the pan for stability. Other bar recipies with Sweetened Cond Milk suggest 28 min cook time. Hopefully the BC test kitchen will figure it out

I made this for a quick "WOW" dessert and it sure was a "WOW" from everyone. It was easy to just throw the stuff on top and watch it bake, can't get any easier for such an amazing brownie. This is for the sweet lover!!

Loved these! I used more pecans for toffee just so I didn't have to go shopping! Baking time was perfect at minimum time.

Well I made this recipe last night, I too had problems with the edges getting burnt. I wondered about the condensed milk going on before all the other ingredients. I did not cook it for the time stated, the edges were too bad. Everyone seems to love them and I am making them for a dinner next week. It is a great recipe and you cant go wrong with it!
