Make beefy chili a cut above the rest. With sirloin and three kinds of beans, you've found a chili that will satisfy hearty appetites.

I changed this up quite a bit, but the basics remain the same. Instead of green pepper, I used a Pablano. With the beef broth, I added 2 tablespoons hot sauce and two tablespoons worchestire sauce and one adobe pepper from a can. I cooked it longer and on low temperature and it came out great. Very subtle heat. Oh, and I used fire roasted tomatoes. Lots and lots of flavor. kids loved it.

I changed a few things; beef tips, added salsa and dice tomatoes, no bell pepper, added a can of corn, instead of kidney beans I used chile beans.. Plus, I cooked in my crock pot. It is delicious. My wife said it was a 12 on a 1-10 scale. I started with the beef tips and salsa in the crock pot for a hour. Then added the rest of the ingredients before a few hours cooking.

this was a great chili recipe......different from the hamburger recipe I am used to. I left out the cumin because I don't like the flavor but added crushed red pepper to give it a little more spice. Instead of cooking it on the stove I put it in the crock pot and let it cook all day.The meat was so tender it fell apart. Very good.....definitely a keeper!

Try substituting chopped green chili's for the green bell pepper... FABULOUS! (I used 1 large and 1 small can of green chilis) Buttermilk cornbread spikes it off the charts!!!!

This chili is excellent. I am picky about my chili and this definitely hits the spot on a cold winters day!

Also liked the alternative to hamburger. Instead of sirloin, I used 2lbs stew meat (you buy it already cut in chunks). Sprinkled with meat tenderizer and pounded out. This is a bit cheaper than sirloin. Instead of using the cumin and chili powder suggested I just used two 1 oz. envelopes chili seasoning. Also used few drops of tobasco sauce. Instead of beef broth, used 1 cup V8 spicy tomatoe juice. This was a good recipe that differed from the chili we had already ate so often this winter.
