I don’t know if the receipt is the same but my mom made them over 50 years ago for breakfast. Still good after all this time.

I liked this recipe. In spite of the fact that my oven is not correct and I over beat the eggs this came out quite well. I have an old apartment electric oven. So I adjusted the heat and beat the eggs less and it came out with a perfect product. It is just about no fail.

This also the same as yorkshire pudding and is wonderful when served with roast beef and brown gravy. In our house we always have leftover beef but never any puddings.

First made these in 1975... SO good hot with anything you like in their hollow centers. Basically, they are about the same as a Yorkshire Pudding- Check it out: http://britishfood.about.com/od/regionalenglishrecipes/r/yorkspuds.htm

Great recipe!!! I remember a recipe similar to this which included one sausage link placed in a custard cup with the same ingredients added before baking! Comes out great! Also known as a "Toad in the Hole".

I don't have popover cups or custard cups, so I used little flower pots (that have only ever been used for baking, of course). I use tiny flower pots for making large muffins and they were just perfect for these popovers! Cheap, easy to find, and they bake perfectly. Just grease generously with Crisco. I served my popovers with butter and honey. Mmmmmm.

I made 3 batches of popovers. I mixed in 3 different things to each group. They were cinnamon & sugar, Peanut Butter, and Raspberry Jam. And then I made flavored cream cheese to mix with them. I mixed in Honey and Cinnamon & sugar with half of the cream cheese. The other one was mixed with Hot Fudge chocolate.
