I made these for a party. I doubled the recipe and they all went! So good. I assembled them the day before and sprinkled a light amount of brown sugar over the smokies right before putting in the oven. The bacon got done better in a 375º oven and the smokies were nice an crisp-like!

These are the tastiest little things! The recipe was so simple and plain that I didn't think they would be anything great but they really are addicting! Next time I am going to try putting the brown sugar inside when I roll them rather than sprinkling on top.

This is a really wonderful recipe and it is easy and everyone loves to see it on the game day menu. We have also used the already cooked bacon and cut it up and wrapped the smokies up and put the brown sugar on top and it warms up and gets crispy in 10 minutes. The recipe with the non-cooked bacon tastes crispier, but in a time crunch we like the quick version.

We make these with either the peppered bacon or you can sprinkle them with a little black pepper if you are using regular bacon. These are SUPER easy and everyone loves them! We don't use toothpicks either usually.
