I love this soup! I've only heard good things from my friends and family that I've cooked this for. The only thing I don't add is celery seed, and that's just a personal preference, I hate the taste of celery and I can taste even the smallest hint of it. I always serve this up with crab melts: crab meat, homemade garlic bread, and monterey jack cheese. They're great for dipping!

This is a very good soup. Make sure if you buy the shrimp frozen, that you rinse the shrimp. A few years ago I made the mistake of letting someone put the shrimp in it, and just put all of it in the soup. Fishy taste. Next time I try, I might use heavy whipping cream instead of half and half for a more thicker soup.

I made this for Christmas Eve and it turned out so well. We also had 2 other soups, but everyone ignored them and just ate this! It has such a great flavor, and tastes like it was impossible to make. I prefer this bisque to the ones made with tomato paste.
